Frequently Asked Questions
What is a health coach?
A health coach is a lifestyle change agent, helping others reach their health, wellness and fitness goals. From nutrition guidance to exercise programs and stress reduction techniques, a health coach is a wellness expert that works with clients to create individualized, adaptable, holistic mind-body health plans. Health coaches are trained to encourage, not lecture–and participants always choose their own goals. While coaches are there to provide accountability for participants, they always do so without judgement.
What is the difference between a health coach and a nutritionist?
Nutritionists are trained to focus heavily on food barriers, while health coaches are trained to focus on food as well as lifestyle barriers.
Can you read my lab results?
A health coach can look at lab results but cannot prescribe any specific protocol or diet to impact lab results. Health coaches can however encourage which foods are beneficial for overall health.
Can you order me lab testing?
Health coaches are not authorized to order any labs.
How is a Primal Health Coach different from other health coaches?
A certified Primal Health Coach has journied back through time into ancestral health principles and gone deep into nutrition science, beyond fitness trends and into whole-body strength and conditioning. Primal Health Coaches provide a blend of ancestral wellness solutions to the modern health crisis. The need for Primal Health Coaches is growing, as the certified PHC helps to transform “crisis” into “calm”, rewriting the stories of clients worldwide.
How do health coaches give their advice?
Why do we need health coaches?
The current medical system is ill equipped to address the epidemic of chronic disease—which is why health coaches play a vital role in the reinvention of healthcare. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, health coaching (along with other health professions) is growing at a faster rate than any other occupation. The statistics on chronic illness speak for themselves. Highly skilled coaches are crucial for helping people make lifesaving behavior change. The world desperately needs the passion for health and compassion for people that health coaches bring to the table.
